New Experience

Today I experienced something new. Normally Damon has Tuesdays off...it just so happens that I did not work today. I was able to experience a Tuesday morning with Damon. He jumped out of bed at about 8:00 am, and said that we would be leaving at 8:30 am to go to the library. I told him I was not going, I had an order that I needed to get ready. Of ourse he makes a pouty face and says, "I just want to spend time with you!" You might be wondering why he would be going to the library at 8:30 am?? We show up at the library at about 8:45 and he jumps out of the car...to wait in line. This brought back memories of past "Black Fridays" waiting in line for that ONE item that you could not live without. Just a couple of mins. later other people get out of their car and line up behind him. I am thinking...do people do this everyday? Damon wanted to be the first one up to the movie floor to check out the new releases that came out today. He does this EVERY Tuesday...He loves his movies, and he can rent them for .50 and then take them back the next day. I say go for it...it beats spending all that money at the movie place... Happy movie watching! PS...here is a picture of my new haircut...it needed a good haircut. I simply adore the girl that cuts it!

Josh's Christmas Tree

This is a picture of the tree that the family of the little boy that died of cancer at our school donated to us! (that is a long sentence!)

Bad, Bad Blogger...

I have been a horrible blogger. I have so many other things on my plate that I take the time to check blogs and emails, but not take the time to put my thoughts down. I spent most of the day shopping with my mom and grandma...it was fun! I even got a FREE lunch out of it. I have bottles to finish tonight for orders that need to be delivered...and gifts to wrap. We are having Christmas with Bethany and Zoe in Chicago tomorrow! We are looking forward to that. We had a nasty ice storm this week. I think I will have ice on my car until May...HA HA, not really, but I chip a little bit off each time I get into the car...more later!

Full of Emotions...

I am thankful for the beliefs that I have. This week at school one of our first graders passed away. He had been sick with cancer for a long time. I had his sister in my kindergarten class. You know when the principal calls over the intercom for all staff to meet in the library right away...something is up. Josh passed away on Wednesday night. It was a somber end of the week at school. This little guy touched the lives of everyone that he met. Last night was the viewing...I went with other fellow teachers, and today was the funeral. I am emotionally drained that I did not attend this morning. I did however, pass by the funeral home as they were heading to the cementary. The herse was followed by firetrucks, Josh loved firemen, and many, many cars. Many of the cars were filled with co-workers who musterd up enough courage to attend this morning. As I sat in my car while the possesion drove on, I had tears streaming down my face. He is now at peace...he is not in pain...my thoughts and prayers go to his family that they may be comforted in this time. I will post soon with the story of the Christmas tree that our school was blessed with this week.

Fa La La La La...

It is beginning to look like Christmas here in Northern Indiana. It is snowing outside this morning...looks tooo cold to even think about going outside, but I have to much to do today to be lazy. I am going to Card Club this morning, I have a hostess having a Scentsy Party early this after noon...and if I don't get stared soon on Christmas presents, they will get done in February this year. My SIL in Canada won't get her gift in time this year...UGH! Just wanted to check in...I will post pictures of last months card club ideas and this month's! Happy Saturday!

Gathering of the Greens...

We have dear family friends that have some big pine trees on their property. They are wanting to get rid of the ones that provide shade to their garden. They have an amazing garden. They had an wreath making party. It was so much fun!
We used this wreath making machine. The hardest part of this was cutting all the pine so that is was the right size. I have cuts on my hands today!
Kate the dog...seems like I always end up with a dog picture with my sister around!

They had a fire, food, drinks...it was a lovely day. I hope they do this each year. I had been at their house when they were making wreaths, but I had never made one before. I made two...one for myself, and one for my dear friend!

Just anothe crowd shot...and we brought out a keyboard and we did have some Christmas carols

These girls were the best helpers...they really got into the wreath making process.

Thanksgiving...

Here are some pictures from Thanksgiving...I could not get them in the right order...you can get the idea!

This is my sister and I!

Some yummy treats the were brought from Chicago with the girls!

Some of the Thanksgiving spread!

YES...I know that my hubby's pants are ripped. He had just gotten home from playing foorball with the guys from church. Sadie (dog) thinks she is a lap dog...she would not get down for anything!

This is me...(If you could not figure this out) and my sisters partner.

We had a great weekend! Hope yours was full of thanks!

Teaser...Our little buddy

It is a sad day in the Hatch/Cook/Leonard family. Our sweet family cat Teaser is at the vet with tubes in his little paws because he is really sick. All day he was pumped full of liquids...and my mom said that he is on dialisis (Spelling) Teaser had been taken to the regular vet, and been told that his issue was just because of behavior...WRONG...he is sick. I wish I had a picture to share with you right now...but I don't. Tomorrow is a new day...hope he has a good night all by himself at the vet.

In the Mood...

I am in the mood for the holidays. I normally don't want Christmas things around until after Thanksgiving, but I am going to pull some holiday things this weekend while I am at my grandma's house. She has been our storage unit since we moved into a little apartment after having to move fairly quickly the beginning of the summer. We are not putting up a tree...there is just not room, but I have to put some Christmas things up!

I really like this background...it gets me "in the mood"!

I have recently connected with 2 friends from high school that I have not seen or talked to in many, many years through Facebook. I love making those connections again...it is nice to read about the things that have been apart of our lives since high school! Just a short entry on getting in the mood!

Sunday...

I always (mostly) look forward to Sundays. One thing I enjoy is that I get to spend the whole day with Damon. I enjoy going to church...when I don't have massive amounts of responsibility that day. Also on Sundays, I get ready for the next week. Most days it is a relaxing day. My body kind of shuts down and says...enough is enough! Just wanted to share some thoughts before I head off to church.
Last Thursday I passed a dumpster that is in our apartment complex several times coming and going from work and school. When D got home, I said to him that I had seen this cabinet in the trash and it looks nice. We went and loaded it into the SUV and took it to my mom's house. They were just coming home from card club and said we got a good find. D and Papa John are going to clean it up and put some shelves in it...it is going to house the massive amount of DVD's that the Hatch's have collected over time. Well, it is time to head to church. Don't be shy...leave a comment, I can see when we get visitor's to our site! I would love to hear from you...I will also work on leaving comments on the blogs that I visit!

Busy Busy busy...

I am sorry that you have had to look at the same post on my blog for awhile. I WILL take some time this weekend to make a new post. I have not had time to breath. I need to post about our dumpter digging! I know...it makes you want to know more!

Starting again...

Tomorrow morning starts my path to a healthier life style. I will be up at 4:45. Anyone want to come along? ahh...those early morning again. I will have to say that I felt so much better doing the bootcamp...and I have kind of missed the grueling, sweaty, sandy workouts. Tomorrow night I am having a Scentsy party at my mom's...if you are in the area and want to stop by...please do. It is going to be very informal. It was a rough day at school today. There needs to be one person who is in charge of telling people what to do...just 7. I felt really attacked. Oh well..tomorrow is a new day! Well...I must get things ready for tomorrow. It will be an early morning!

Sunday, September 7, 2008

This family is on my mom's side, and boy do they party. Last night there was dancing and drinking {by some...not me}...and more dancing. It is always a good time. Afraid of Change...

I have seen so many very cute back grounds for blogs...but I am scared to try any because I don't want to lose anything on the side bars. I don't know if you have to save them to something? Who knows...is there anyone out there that could help me? I really would like to take just a beginner's class to understand how to change things with blogs and what nots! HELP!

One Week Down...

Well, school has been back in session for one week. This school year, I am working as a Title 1 aid in kindergarten. I have been assigned at the school where I taught KinderClub for several years. It is so nice going back into a building that I am already familiar with the staff and many of the students. Can I just say...WOW...there are so many little, curious & busy 5 year olds intrusted into our care this school year. It is always a bit rough at the beginning of the year because...face it...they are 5 years old and many have not been in a structured learning environment before. The class that I am in there are 28 children...and the teacher and I barely have time to breathe. Each day we see such an improvement in each thing we do during the day. I would not change what I was doing at this time...it is nice to know where I will be each day...and soon I hope to know what responsibilities I have each day! Hope those of you who have children starting school that it has been a smooth transition. Can't wait for the Oylimpics to be over so that I can get to bed at a decent hour! Happy Wednesday!

We are home...

Hello! We made it home about 3:30 AM this morning. We were in bed at 3:45 AM...the I was up at 6:15 AM today for the first day of school. Damon also went back to work today...we will not take such late flights again. We are so tired. I am sure that as soon as Damon gets home from work, we will maybe have dinner and go right to bed. Oh, it was so nice to sleep for a couple of hours in our own bed last night. Bless my mom for making early morning, and late night runs to Chicgao to drop us off and pick us up. We had a nice time with Damon's family...but it is really nice to be home. More later...can't keep the eyes open!

One highlight of the trip is going to the Roloff's Farm {Little People, Big World, TLC Channel} D has some friends that live nearby...so they are going to take us there...I will at elast get a picture of the sign...

Today I have been getting ready...laundry, cleaning, packing...all that fun stuff! Anyway...have a great week!

Craft Helper??

I had gotten my Stampin Up order about a week or so ago and set it next to the computer table. Damon picked up the bag and said, "When are you going to put these stamps together?" I turned around from working on the computer and found this? I know he really wants to pull out all the craft things and be creative!!!

All Home & Tucked into Bed...

We are home from the surgery center. Damon is resting well...and you would to if you took the pills he took. I am not a good nurse...I don't like to see anyone, let alone my husband uncomfortable...and I get oozy at the site of blood. Oh well...I just have to suck it up! We thought that he would have stiches on the outside of his nose...but you can't even tell he had anything done until you see up the nose and the blood. I am sure that he will be feeling much better tomorrow. We have a post op appointment for the afternoon. {tomorrow}

Sand Anyone?

This is the time that we left this morning for our workout!
This is the way that OutPost sports looks like at 5:30 AM
This is after we are done with our workout. Some people hose themselves off after the workout...I just shake out the gallons (LOL) of sand that finds its way to all crevices of the body.
This is ME...Damon's attempt of being sneaky as I am walking back to the car to go home...thank goodness it is NOT a close up...I would not of put that on the blog.
I feel so great today...

Tomorrow is the day...

Tomorrow is weigh day #1. I am approaching this with some apprehension...tomorrow will tell. Today I started my job at Wal-Mart. Did you know that it costs $2500 for the hiring of a new person. YIKES...and to think that I will be ending this job at the beginning of August. We are slowly unpacking...I have lost the excitement of moving and unpacking...I am sure it will get done soon. My sister is in England this week...and will be having a civil union with Zoe on Friday. This is a perfect day for Bethany since she loves anything having to do with the United States. I will be sure to post pictures once they are sent to me. Have a good one!
